Hike at Dawson Butte

Hike is North of Monument, in the Larkspur area, a gentle meandering loop of 4.5 miles through alternating forest and meadow, not a lot of vertical change. We will CARPOOL from the Safeway lot at 624 Hwy 105 in Monument, look for my white Jeep Cherokee, or if you prefer to go direct, trailhead is at at 1753 Tomah Road, so go north on I-25 and get off at exit 175, then follow the Frontage Road northward on the west of the Interstate, turn left at Tomah Road, follow for a couple miles, The parking will be on the right at the big sweeping curve, we carpoolers will be there approximately 9:30. Pickleball at Wilson Ranch Community Park 11:00 AM

NEW TIME! Wilson Ranch Community Park at 2335 Allegheny Drive, Colo. Sp. Co. 80919 In the current location there is limited shade. Please bring what you will need for the sun, like water, hat & chair \*\* Always check on the meetup app or text Scott for possible cancellations due to weather. Both winter and summer have reasons for cancellations. Courts have to be dry and temperatures need to be above 45 degrees in winter. During summer If the start time temperature is in the high 80s into the 90s please note: I will officially cancel the event but people can meet and play at their own risk. If courts are full we will go to the back up location: Foothills Elementary School, 825 Allegheny Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. There are no toilets at this location in the winter months, but there is a Safeway or a Walgreens about 1.5 miles away. Safeway, 840 Village Center Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80919 In the winter months: We have decided that the temperature needs to be above 45 degrees to play. We have enough paddles for eight people to play at once (which is typically 2 courts). As with all sports like this. We all play at our own risk. Thanksgiving Day Lunch 12:00 pm

12:00 pm is starting time to socialize and get food organized. Dinner will start at 1:00 pm. Thanksgiving Day event is an all day event, we know several of you plan on coming for the dinner and others for the later afternoon events. We are asking this year for a response to figure out how many turkeys we need this year. Past years we generally had turnouts for dinner in the twenty’s, then another dozen and a half showing up later. As the day went on the two large turkeys were not enough. There is no reason to stay home during the holidays, if you don’t have immediate family in town like many of us, come and join us!
