Hike at Mule Creek
Section titled “Hike at Mule Creek”This is one of our easiest, an out-and back through green leafy forest along a babbling creek, with quite a few wildflowers. We will meet at the Safeway at 3275 West Colorado and carpool up to the trailhead. The trail is about 3-4 miles north of Woodland Park, a big favorite of the people that live up there. We’ll be going north on State Hwy 67, then turn left (west) onto Forest Service Road #342 (directly across #67 from Red Rocks Campground), the trailhead is in the left after about 1/2 mile. Please bring water, a snack, and good footwear. Not a lot of rocks on this trail. There are no toilet facilities on the trail. Dogs are ok if on leash. Text Phil at 719-359-1603 with any questions. I soloed this hike Monday, it was 10 degrees cooler than the Springs and very shady.

Hike at Raspberry Mountain
Section titled “Hike at Raspberry Mountain”This is another out-and-back, but more challenging, an almost entirely forested hike up to the summit of Raspberry Mountain, which is near Mueller State Park, south of Divide. The trail has about 1,000 feet of vertical gain from the trailhead to the summit, which is at 10,600 feet. The hike is about 6 miles long in total distance, mostly a dirt path until the very last 200 yards to the summit, which consists of some big boulders with expansive views in all directions. We will meet to carpool at the Safeway at 3275 West Colorado, look for my red Mazda. Please bring water, a snack and good footwear. There are no toilet facilities on this hike.
